Microsoft Media Center Usb Remote Control
The MCE remote has been branded with the mark of the beast, but it is a very usefull device for controlling a media center pc.
First: verify if the usb identity of the device matches the ID below. In case of a older version, the mceusb already availble through lirc-0.7.1 should work.

I use Fedora Core 4 with a lirc-0.7.1 version on board

Everything you need to install
You need either to modify /etc/init.d/lirc to start up the device /dev/lirc0 or make a link from /dev/lirc to /dev/lirc0
You could use irw to check the keys pressed and modify /etc/freevo/lircrc
Microsoft Media Center Keyboard
Don't buy a MCE Keyboard just yet. A lot of work is going on to support the MCE Keyboard on Linux. However, it is still early days. Here are some links to get you started:
